Edo State Task Force against trafficking: training programmes for returnees

Last July we announced the creation of a Task Force to fight trafficking in Edo State, during the 4th Edo Women’s Conference, as reported here.
The work is in progress and the Edo State Task Force is putting in place development programmes, appropriate training and employment insertion or creation for returnees from Libya – 500 Libya returnees so far – and from European countries, as a means of eradicating trafficking from the state.

Our services in support of women

Job search has become harder and harder, either in Italy or all over other countries.
Nowadays individuals and families have been seeing their purchasing power constantly reduced. That is all the more so for disadvantaged people, migrants and trafficked women.

Having a job doesn’t just mean improving one’s own economic status, but labour is a right for everyone.
This is the reason why, in spite of many difficulties, we as a non-profit association offer our support to the people in need.

From October 2016 a new service started in support of women: a counselling service for psychological support and cultural mediation.
The operator will provide assistance in either writing a CV, preparing a job interview and finding job opportunities.
The office is open:
TUESDAY from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.
WEDNESDAY from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m.
FRIDAY from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m.

Unfortunately, we are not able to provide jobs, but we think that it could be a valid gesture to tell women: we stand by you!

Giulia, a volunteer, is available by appointment every 2nd and 4th Friday from 4:00 p.m. to 6.30 p.m.
